The iSMART Lab is a first-of-its-kind, cutting-edge smart factory learning lab in Northeast Indiana. The new Industry 4.0 skills lab, housed at the Community Learning Center in Kendallville, is making possible opportunities for local industrial employers to skill up workers to meet the demands of today’s modern factory environments.
In an effort to support Freedom Academy, Noble County’s adult workforce training partner, Be Noble Inc. has launched a survey of local industrial employers to gather up-to-date information about the training needs of their workforce.
All local industrial employers are encouraged to take this brief survey, open until Friday, Sept. 9, 2022.
Survey responses will help inform efforts to create workforce training curriculums, including those that utilize the iSMART Lab technologies, which include:
- Robotic systems
- The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and data analytics
- Automation systems
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Control systems
- Electro-fluid power systems
- Network & IT systems
Within these areas are opportunities for learners to earn micro-credentials and certifications available through the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA). More information about the Industry 4.0 technologies that are the basis of iSMART Lab curriculums are outlined in this SACA brochure.
Results of the survey will be utilized by Freedom Academy and to inform further discussions at an upcoming HR Roundtable to be co-hosted with Be Noble Inc. The HR Roundtable will take place in the latter half of September, 2022, at the Community Learning Center and will be open to all local industrial employers with an interest in learning more about the iSMART Lab and opportunities to skill up existing and future members of the workforce.
