The Noble County Health Department has announced a presentation by State Health Commissioner, Dr. Lindsay Weaver, will take place in Noble County at the Augusta Hills Learning, Recreation & Community Center on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 beginning at 11:30 am.
Dr. Weaver will be in the area to present on Health First Indiana and its impact for Noble County. Health First Indiana is an initiative created by Senate Enrolled Act 4, legislation passed by the 2023 Indiana General Assembly that aims to transform public health. The legislation provides funding to local communities to prioritize public health and safety. Health First Indiana focuses on providing core services including lead screening, food protection, trauma and injury prevention, and more.
“Good health is the foundation of our ability to thrive, from schools to the economy,” states Anne Lowe, Noble County Public Health Nurse, in the announcement. “Every Hoosier deserves access to foundational public health services, regardless of where they live, and these services are best delivered locally by those who know their communities best. The goal of Health First Indiana is to ensure that every Hoosier has access to the core public health services that allow them to achieve their optimal health and well-being.”
The public is invited to the one-hour discussion about Health First Indiana to hear about the exciting possibilities for Noble County’s residents.
