Be Noble Inc. has been notified by Kim Tempel, Senior Director of Business Services/Human Resources at the Department of Workforce Development (DWD), that DWD will be awarding Employer Training Grant (ETG) 7.0 funds to Northeast Indiana Works for program year July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. These funds help employers fill jobs by reimbursing them for training, hiring, and retaining new or incumbent workers to fill in-demand positions within recognized job fields. Grants are available within six priority sectors for many eligible occupations. Reimbursement of up to $5,000 per employee and $50,000 per employer is available. This program has helped train nearly 30,000 Hoosiers. Learn more about how it works.

At the time of this update, general information, including eligibility for the program, is available. The award itself has not yet been made to Northeast Indiana Works, nor the funding amount confirmed for the region.

Returning employers, those who received funds in ETG 6.0, will see no changes in the program. Those who wish to apply for ETG 7.0 may submit an “interest form” (formerly known as the ‘application’) for the grant. No agreements can be issued until funding has been allocated, though DWD will help employers work through the initial application steps.

ETG 7.0 Application

DWD has confirmed that employers are now able to submit an “interest form” (formerly known as the application) for the grant. Until the region’s funds have been allocated, no agreements can yet be issued. However, help is available now to work through the initial steps of the process to be ready when funding is allocated.

New Employers (first-time applicants)

If you are a new employer that has not participated in ETG in the past, you will need to start here. Click on the “Hoosier High Five” button. Create or sign into your Access Indiana account and complete the “New Business Interest Form” (Creating Access Indiana Account).

Returning Employers (previous ETG receipients)

Employers that have participated in ETG in the past (and have an account in the Next Level Jobs employer portal) do not need to fill out a new interest form. Sign into your account and use the My Services tab. Click on the “Create a New Training Plan” tab to begin filling out the new TP information (Accessing previously submitted ETG information).

*The portal has been updated several times since the guides provided above were published, so the portal may be slight different visually, but hopefully you find them to be more helpful than hurtful.

For reference, feel free to review the NextLevel Jobs presentation provided for more background information and visit this site.

Kim Tempel is available to assist you with the application process and answer questions.
