The steering committee of Thrive Noble County has announced plans to launch a new Noble leadership academy designed to cultivate civic leaders, build regional capacity, and ensure a thriving economy. The first program is slated to begin in Fall 2023.
Organizers say what will set Engage Noble apart from other leadership development programs is that every session will be presented through the “lens” of Thrive Noble County, a framework that places emphasis on Five Pillars necessary for the county to thrive:
- Leadership Development
- Community Investment
- Entrepreneurial Growth
- Youth Engagement
- Cultural Enhancement
Additionally, Engage Noble aims to embrace the 20 Clues to Rural Community Survival based on research conducted by the Heartland Center for Leadership Development. Local faces and places will help participants discover exclusive opportunities to engage in their own community, invest in causes and missions they care most about, and become effective leaders who can help shape their future and that of their community.
Engage Noble cohorts will meet at a number of weekday sessions over the course of six to eight months, with opportunities to expand their knowledge of Noble County and gain leadership skills to enhance their life and work as a member of the community. The program aims to equip individuals to:
- Network and develop relationships with others from across Noble County
- Discover opportunities to collaborate and lead locally
- Enhance the diversity of local leadership
- Improve accessibility to help cross perceived boundaries
Cohorts will enjoy hands-on learning experiences and activities, networking and breakout sessions, and practical lessons designed for leaders at all levels. A line-up of topical experts who live and work in Noble County will be among presenters. Session locations will rotate around the county to include a variety of towns, cities, and venues to enhance exposure and learning about many of the unique local assets and opportunities. Organizers will also collaborate with non-profits in Noble County to help connect cohorts to local organizations who offer opportunities to engage and help build capacity.
The cost of tuition for Engage Noble has not yet been announced. Efforts are underway to seek grant funding and corporate sponsorships to build a sustainable program and ensure tuitions are affordable. Anyone interested in becoming a contributing partner, or sponsoring scholarship(s), may contact any Thrive member to explore opportunities.
