Employers from Noble County and Northeast Indiana are being asked to participate in a comprehensive survey of benefits, which, when combined with updated wage data for the region, will be released in a report later this year to aid companies and economic developers. The survey of employee benefits will be open for respondents from February 1 through March 5.
The electronic benefits survey will gather accurate and up to date information about the local business environment and serves two key purposes:
- assist existing employers in efforts to evaluate current compensation programs with regional market data
- provide local economic developers competitive information for attracting new investments
This year’s survey is different than in years past. The 2021 survey will only seek information related to employee benefits. Wage data is now available through other mechanisms, so will not need to be provided by employers. The benefits survey will seek information about the costs of health insurance and policies as well as information about training, vacation allowances, and financial incentives such as retirement and bonus plans. A section on workforce assessment will seek to learn about about skills education, drug testing policies, and forecasts for hiring and wage increases.
“Many employers in Northeast Indiana area needing comparative information to make sound decisions in restructuring their current benefit packages, as well as staying competitive in the market for new hires. Chambers of Commerce and economic development organizations across the region appreciate employers providing confidential information as it is a resource our members can use,” said Erin Prible, chair of Northeast Indiana Chamber Coalition and executive director of Wells County Chamber of Commerce.
The survey will reach all sectors of employment in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties. It will be broken down into four categories:
- Goods producing, construction, and logistics
- Professional, finance, and information services
- Healthcare
- Leisure, hospitality, retail, and restaurants
Data analysis will be conducted and reports prepared by an independent consultant. All participant information will remain confidential. Those who have participated in previous wage and benefit surveys should note that the information provided in past years will not be used to auto-populate the 2021 survey due to the change in methodology. Users will be able to save their progress and return to the survey as needed until completed.
Human resource professionals are asked to read this instruction sheet and visit this website beginning February 1 to complete the survey. Use survey code UHyEii5.
