A new Executive Order 20-48 has been issued by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb putting forth new county-based measures and restrictions based on the impact and spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
This new order, available in full context here, is in effective from November 15 at 12:01 a.m. and continuing until 11:59 p.m. December 12, 2020 for all Hoosiers, Hoosier businesses, and other individuals in the state.
All people within the State of Indiana are required to:
- Exercise caution
- Self-quarantine when warranted
- If at high risk, remain vigilant for self-protection
- Engage in social distancing
And, wear face coverings over the nose and mouth when (see order for exceptions):
- inside a business, public building or other indoor place open to the public
- inside private offices, workspaces or meetings; or outdoors in public spaces where six feet of social distancing cannot be achieved between individuals not in the same household
- when using public transportation, taxi, private car, ride-sharing, etc.
Businesses are required to (see order for guidance):
- Develop and share/post a COVID-Response Plan
- Post signage at public and employee entrances that masks are required to enter
- Require employees to wear face coverings (in places required as noted)
- Only admit customers/clients who wear face coverings
- Implement social distancing measures
- Practice sanitization measures to control spread
- Comply with IOSHA Standards
Additional requirements are applicable for hospitals, food and drink establishments, religious services, place of worship, social gatherings, events, educational institutions.
A county designated as “Orange Zone” is subject to these additional measures and restrictions:
- Social gatherings limited to up to 50 people without a safety plan approved by the local health department at least seven days in advance of event
- Reduced allowances of congregating workers / break areas
- 25% capacity at winter indoor K-12 activities
- Limited attendance at recreational sport leagues, etc.
