Business/HR Manager: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
Reports To: Executive Library Director
Primary Duties: Finance & HR
Salary: $19/hour
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday and one evening meeting per month
Required Qualifications: Including but not limited to an Associate degree or above in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. Minimum of 2 years work experience with accounts payable, payroll, and human resources. Applicant should be skilled in interpersonal relationships, verbal and written communication, time management, self-motivation, library-wide operations, customer service and current accounting trends.
Applicant will need to be able to adapt to change, work at a fast pace, and remain organized.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
▪ Bookkeeping Duties
o Manages the daily business operations of the library
o Maintains electronic and physical copies of financial, accounting, business, and library records while upholding adequate internal controls, confidentiality and good judgment
o Performs all claims processing duties including monthly bills to be paid, verifies receipt of materials being billed, prepares checks and vouchers, and pays interim bills between Board meetings as necessary and appropriate
o Prepares checks for the Treasurer’s signature and serves as the recording secretary for the Library Board of Trustees
o Maintains automated fund accounting system in compliance with library-accepted accounting principles while complying with all state and federal public library accounting procedures and requirements
o Works with the Executive Director to monitor and maintain records of assets, investments, and deposits
o Works with the Executive Director to prepare and complete all financial reports required by statute (IRS, Workforce Development, State, etc.)
o Willing to attend meetings, workshops, and professional development training as needed
▪ Administrative Duties
o Assists with onboarding and exiting staff
o Assists the Executive Library Director with the annual budget, various financial reports and audits
o Performs all duties for employee payroll, including verifying and processing PTO accruals and creating and distributing tax forms such as W-2s and 1099s
▪ HR background is needed or should have the willingness to learn
▪ Other duties as assigned

Commits to excellent customer service. Is self-motivated and innovative. Has integrity and is trustworthy. Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a background in accounting and human resources. Two years of related work experience is required. Must submit to a background check.
