As the chief executive of Be Noble Inc., the Executive Director will work alongside business leaders, elected officials, educational institutions, regional partners, investors, and community organizations to advance strategic initiatives that strengthen Noble County's economy and quality of life. The Executive Director will lead efforts in business attraction and retention, workforce development, fundraising, community development, organizational leadership, and strategic planning while serving as the organization's primary spokesperson.

Be Noble Inc. is Noble County's Local Economic Development Organization (LEDO), dedicated to fostering sustainable economic growth by supporting existing businesses, attracting new investment, strengthening the local workforce, and enhancing the quality of life throughout Noble County.

Position Responsibilities

The Executive Director provides strategic leadership for the organization by:

  • Executive Leadership: Provide strategic leadership by implementing the Board of Directors' vision, strategic plan, and annual work plan while serving as the primary liaison to the Board through governance support, committee coordination, board orientation, and organizational reporting. Direct the organization's daily operations, including staff, contractors, volunteers, financial management, budgeting, organizational performance, and policy implementation.
  • Strategic Growth & Recruitment: Lead business attraction, retention, expansion, entrepreneurship, redevelopment, and community development initiatives that strengthen Noble County's economy and quality of life.
  • Prospect & Partner Relations: Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with business leaders, investors, developers, local governments, educational institutions, workforce organizations, regional partners, utilities, and state agencies to advance economic development opportunities. 
  • Workforce Development: Champion workforce development by fostering employer engagement, talent attraction, career awareness, and partnerships that support a skilled workforce.
  • Fundraising: Develop and execute fundraising strategies by cultivating investors, sponsors, donors, grants, and other financial resources to ensure the organization's long-term sustainability.
  • Board & Policy Governance: Present policy recommendations to the Board of Directors and lead orientation for new board members and volunteers.
  • Brand & Public Relations: Lead marketing, branding, public relations, website content, social media, and public communications that promote Noble County as an exceptional place to live, work, invest, and do business. Represent Be Noble Inc. locally, regionally, and statewide as the organization's chief spokesperson and advocate for Noble County's economic development priorities.

  • Visionary leadership with the ability to execute strategic initiatives. 
  • Experience building partnerships across the public, private, nonprofit, and education sectors. 
  • Strong business acumen and organizational management skills. 
  • Proven success in fundraising, grant development, or investor relations. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills. 
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational leadership. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
  • A commitment to professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, public administration, community development, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years of experience in economic development, community development, nonprofit leadership, business development, public administration, or a related field. 
  • Experience working with local, state, and federal government programs and officials. 
  • Professional certifications such as IEDA, CEcD, EDFP, or a willingness to obtain them. 
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as necessary. 
  • Bondable.
